About
I enjoy the process and the meditative act of painting, drawing and making Linocut artworks. I enjoy the freedom in the outlet of expression and creating something with a simple line, a curve, a shadow that can create an illusion of form and provoke emotion or thought, bring a little joy or beauty into the world, or open a wound and create a little scar.
Fascinated and inspired by the human figure in classical realism and the extreme contrasts of everyday life; I am working primarily in oils, charcoal and graphite, and currently exploring techniques in black and white and muted color as well as hand made block prints to create contemporary fine art.
Born in Los Angeles, I grew up in the Huntington Beach area. I now live and work in Pasadena, California.
With the exception of drafting lessons that my Father shared with me when I was a kid, and one great freehand drawing class in High School, I am self-taught in art through observation - a lot of reading, and a great deal of practice.
Creating art is my passion and quite honestly I just have fun creating and challenging myself.
